Vice-chancellor of Tribhuwan University gives an official farewell
In the presence of Tribhuwan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tirtha Raj Khaniya, Dawa Sherpa, A student of TU anthropology department gets an official Farewell this Monday. other prominent personalities who extended their best wishes in the program were, National social worker Prof. Jagdish Baidya, Executive Director, Student Welfare, and Sports Directorate, TU, Ganga Bahadur Thapa Magar and so on.
Dawa Sherpa, born in 1942 BS at Solukhumbu district, in his statement said that it was his longing dream to climb Mount Everest. Even before joining masters at Department of Anthropology he wanted to take the Flag of the university and the flag of the country to the top of the world. He further said, “As no student in the world has climbed the Everest officially as a representative of a University, it would be a world record.”
while giving a short speech Dr. Khaniya said, its an opportunity and a chance for Tribhuwan University to show the world that, the TU has such determined and talented students. He further said, ” While, we are feeling proud of such achievements of our students, the nurturing of such creativity and dreams of students is essential for the growth of any university. our students trying to break world records is an achievement and proud moment for all of us, he said.
Students and colleagues of his, also participated in the event to extend gratitude and to give the farewell.

Prof. Jagdish Baidya also extended his warm wishes to Dawa sherpa for his Journey. The event became more auspicious because it was scheduled to have the foundation of the Saraswati Temple inaugurated on the same premises on the same day. Dawa Sherpa participated in the prayer for the temple.
